The Very Hungry Caterpillar

One morning the warm sun came up and – pop! – out of your bed came a tiny and very hungry person! Fill up your belly and transform into a beautiful butterfly by eating Hungry Caterpillar Fruit Salad.

​Eat your way through a Hole-y Salami Sammy.

Hungry Caterpillar Fruit Salad

Complexity: Easy, just chopping and mixing fruit. Kids can help pick out fruit and mix it together.
Time: 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Apples (the very hungry caterpillar eats 1)
  • Pears (caterpillar eats 2)
  • Plums (caterpillar eats 3)
  • Strawberries (caterpillar eats 4, but we know you’ll want more)
  • Oranges (caterpillar eats 5, but that’s a lot!)
  • Watermelon (caterpillar eats one slice, but you could probably use a few more)
  • Squirt of lemon juice

Directions

  1. Chop up the fruits and combine in a bowl. Enjoy!

Hole-y Salami Sammy

Complexity: Easy, everyone can help assemble the sandwich.
Time: 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Two slices of your favorite bread
  • One slice of hole-y Swiss cheese
  • 4 slices of salami
  • Leafy greens, to taste
  • 1 pickle​

Directions

  1. Place the Swiss cheese, salami, and greens on one piece of bread and top with the other piece of bread. Slice in half, and serve with a pickle.
